Wednesday, November 27th. 2013.  A few photos of Jackson, courtesy of Shasta, from Youth Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Mt Airy.

Saturday, November 23rd, 2013. 1st Place! 4th Grade Division Champions of the Mayberry Turkey Classic in Mt Airy.  The Stars went 3-0, beating East Wilkes Havoc 49-7, then the Mt Airy Elite by 45-6 and 45-18.  The entire team played really well and Ben scored in each game.  They are now 6-1 for the season.   Jackson was meanwhile at Atkins High School competing in a Twelve competition with Mt Airy Middle School.  This was their first ever competition and they finished in 2nd place.  Way to go Jackson!  As soon as Ben's basketball tournament was over, we drove to Claudville to spend the night with my grandmother, Hava, as my uncle Mike underwent very serious surgery following multiple ruptured brain aneurysms.

Friday, November 22nd, 2013. Looking forward to another full weekend.  Ben plays in a basketball tournament locally and Jackson travels to Winston-Salem to compete in a Twelve competition (quiz comp).  Around that the boys will also spend lots of time on the basketball court practicing.

Thursday, November 21st, 2013. Today I am posting photos of Ben volunteering at a food drive earlier this month as part of the student council at Jones.  Amy and the boys also volunteered at Friends Feeding Friends last week.  Amy was very proud of the job both boys that evening.  That was the same night that I was sorting popcorn at the house.  Did I mention that we have been busy lately?  Ben was also sick earlier this week and stayed home from school on Monday and Tuesday.  I stayed with him each morning and Amy stayed with him during the afternoon.

Below are photos from when Jackson was in student council at Jones and volunteered at the same food drive.

Wednesday, November 20th, 2013. So super busy these days, with basketball, Cub Scouts, work and more.  Ben and I left home at 6:45 Saturday morning for a basketball tournament in Thomasville and did not return until 11:30 that night.  While we were gone, Jackson had his friends Jack, Tanner, Simon and Robert over.  Monday was Cub Scouts, Tuesday was Jackson's first practice with his 13-16 year old rec team.  Just seems to be something every day.  Ben's team played great and came in 2nd place (more details here

This month we also had the scout popcorn sort, Amy and the boys volunteered at Friends Feeding Friends, we played pick-up basketball games in Blue Ridge, Ben has had friends Weston and Cayden over, Ben volunteered with the Student Council at the Lowe's Foods food drive and picked up trash with our Cub Scout pack, Amy went to see Bon Jovi with her friend Lori, I had friends over for a night around the fire pit...  In fact, the fire pit has stayed in pretty constant action lately.
